Camp Fire Boys and Girls Desert Southwest Council
Welcome,
we are headquartered at 2555 Engler Ave, Yuma AZ 85365.
Chartered by the national Camp Fire
organization in 1999, it operates as an independent agency following the
philosophy and standards set by the national Camp Fire organization. |
Working together, the parents, the neighborhood school and Camp Fire
can have a major impact on the quality of life for our children and teens.
Camp Fire programs are designed to present new opportunities for
experience and growth - in the context of an experiential, fun-filled
course of learning.
Please be sure to check our
"latest news" page to keep abreast of latest activities.

Camp Fire Boys and Girls Profile:
|
FUN and LEARNING:
Camp Fire Boys and Girls offers a supportive, positive environment that
provides safe, fun, constructive activities for children, including:
| camping and environmental education |
| self-reliance classes |
| clubs |
| child care |
| youth leadership opportunities |
OPPORTUNITY
These opportunities are best provided by people who know and serve
their community's children. Camp Fire council staff and volunteers follow
nationally established standards, philosophy and purpose in presenting all
or some of Camp Fire's core programs. Councils also can offer specialized
programming to meet identified community needs.
CO-EDUCATION
Founded for girls in 1910, Camp Fire Boys and Girls has a rich history
that is strong on tradition, but continuously evolves to meet the changing
needs of children and youth. Camp Fire embraces diversity and the
inclusiveness and has been co-educational for more than 20 years. Through
health and safety classes, volunteer service, backpacking, swimming and
more, boys and girls learn to work and play together and to appreciate
their similarities and differences.
SUPPORT
Today's young people face different challenges than in the past. But
one thing that remains constant is the need for community support. Camp
Fire relies on corporations and other community organizations for
donations of time talent and financial support that will bring unique,
successful programs to children.
